Beware being called into the Young Women's Organization in the South Meadows Ward of the Reno Nevada Stake! Turns out that you have about a 90% chance of getting pregnant once you've been set apart...
In the past two years, we have had 5 YW leaders get pregnant and/or have babies while serving in their respective callings (including me). Steve and I were joking about it last night and had a little dialogue going...
Bishop - "Sister SoNSo, we would like to extend the calling of YW _____ in our ward."
Sister SoNSo- "I'm sorry Bishop, I'm going to have to refuse to take this calling."
Bishop - "May I inquire the reason."
Sister SoNSo - "My husband and I just arn't ready to get pregnant right now Bishop."
Can you IMAGINE?!

We could call you in as an Advisor!
It's not just your ward. Ours is the same way. First it was the Laurel Advisor, then the 2nd counselor, then Beehive Advisor. YW presidency changed and then the new Pres, New Secretary found out they were prego and then new laurel advisor came in already prego. Finally, it was me! The girls just said 'it's about time." Well, when you're husband's gone all the time....it takes a little longer!
I forgot to mention -- I was the Mia Maid Advisor (class teacher.) So for your friend, that calling isn't safe either!
It is VERY hard when your husband is gone all the time! That's definately been one of our trials. Steph, I guess you and I can count our blessings for being in YW!
Yeah, we had a 1st Counselor, President, Advisor, Secretary and now the 2nd Counselor... no position is safe!

You know, that is really funny, because I was going to say "it must be in the water", but then EVERYONE would be getting pregnant!
That's hilarious! However I think if you want to adopt (or have an opportunity) maybe you should receive a calling in Relief Society! (haha)Now I think about it, maybe that's what has been wrong for the past 6 years, I needed to be in YW, instead of RS. hum..

Steve is way into the adoption thing. I don't want to switch callings with you, but maybe we can work something out and move up one of your counselors and you can take my place as secretary in YW!
